Her voice reminds me of Celia Cruz the Queen of Salsa….El Testigo stands out as the track with the most feeling and the strong lyrics add to the dramatic effect. I love the Andean influence in this one and I shall be playing this on next week’s show.

Wednesdays featured artist : Coca Tenorio. This amazing lady from Ecuador is now based in the Highlands of Scotland. Her new album Cold Like Stones is superb. It features musicians from Scotland, Ecuador, Cuba & Colombia and is sung in both English and Spanish. I need to see this lady live. In fact I think we all do !

Coca Tenorio's self-produced solo album is another very accomplished piece of work.... her versatile voice evokes her Latin-American roots with assurance.

Just once in a while an album arrives in unexpected fashion and you hear a new original voice. These songs of life and love have poignant undercurrents but no unnecessary drama: they are utterly convincing
